Spending our honeymoon at Nazuna Kyoto Gosho was the best decision I've made while visiting Japan. This cozy, quiet hotel is brimming with charm and ancient beauty. All rooms are different and exude their own personality. Elegant and delicious meals are offered on site, both breakfast and dinner--both highly recommended! The lounge offers free snacks and beverages, as well as complimentary drinks inside your room. The staff goes absolutely out of their way to make sure your experience is enjoyable, relaxing, and unforgettable. Don't be afraid to chat, to ask for recommendations around Kyoto, or request help with taxis, luggage forwarding, etc. If you plan to visit Kyoto anytime soon, do yourself a favor and book any of the rooms here for a few days--it's well worth every penny.

Amazing stay at the property, staff were very attentive and made us felt welcome right from the start when we walked through the front entrance. We were there early so we left our bags and went for lunch. When we came back, our room was ready and our bags already brought into the room. Welcome reception was a nice touch and dinner service was impeccable. The private bath was rejuvenating after a long day out. Breakfast service was delicious.

My wife and I stayed here for five nights in August '23. This is a fine alternative to the luxury chain hotels. It's a small property with very good/attentive service. The rooms are well-appointed and the beds are quite comfortable. The only thing to note is that if you're tall, you'll need to frequently duck in the room to avoid hitting your head on the door frames. The daily breakfast is very good and the location is quiet but easily accessible to many of the sites in Kyoto. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would happily recommend it to others.

Amazing experience. Staying at a ryoken is something special, and the staff here make you feel very special by how kind, helpful, and welcoming they are. The breakfast is prepared right in front of you, and the server cooking for you will have a lovely conservation with you. Both of our servers we had were amazing and we were even given a personal note on restaurant recommendations to visit when we left for Osaka after our stay, which was the nicest thing any hotel staff has done for us. I wish we were able to spend more time there!

Extremely attentive & kind staff, beautiful private onsen, food is exceptional, quiet, clean, and peaceful. Wish I stayed another night. Would definitely stay again. Book way in advance for better pricing. Pricey, but definitely a "treat yo self" worthy and the value is worth it. Had the sukiyaki and breakfast package, which also includes late night snack and 24 hour dining area access, which contains drinks and snacks.
