Nexy Living

A mixed bag with apartment but in short, it was good and we'd probably stay here again. I'd describe it as a room not an apartment as it really didn't have self contained facilities. The good- the bed and bedding was really very very comfortable. Something that isn't ready to find, and after a few days up in Sa Pa and Ha Giang, it was a real treat. It was quite large and had reasonable storage space. We had a small outdoor balcony but you couldn't really see the street from it but the skyline was really nice. The shower itself was good but see below for bathroom comment. The staff were friendly. The location is fantastic in the old quarter, great little Pho restaurant downstairs and plenty of coffee shops close by. The bad- there's no laundry in the apartment or building. There's a paid laundry service at the Nexy hostel around the corner though. There was a issue on our arrival as had planned our trip based on a laundry and dryer being available as per our Airbnb booking. We weren't completely happy with the response but at least they updated the Airbnb listing so noone else has the same issue. The bathroom is a silly design with an oversize basin and cramped toilet - even the toilet holder is next to the open shower? Anyway, small details but frustrating simple avoidable design faults. ( The shower is a really good one though.). The sofa lounge is pretty awful and uncomfortable, we used pillows/cushions and the footrests to make it more bearable. The entrance is at the back of a store, it's currently empty though, so depending on what happens with that space you may find yourself walking through another store with your luggage. Hopefully they just make a cafe out of it ! Check in is via the Nexy Hostel around the corner, not much of a big deal really and was clear when we booked of that requirement. The "kitchen" is an outdoor sink and cooktop (tea and coffee facility inside) with a couple of bowls, a large spoon and knife and two large pans and some chopsticks. The balcony roofing leaks in the rain so you can't cook (oe eat) out there if it's raining. So don't expect to cook at home regularly here. Overall, we'd stay here again for a short stay, but treat it as a hotel room not an apartment.

Polite staff, clean rooms and free breakfast! It was strange at first to travel to Nexy Hostel for breakfast and the bar but SO worth it to be removed from hustle and bustle that comes with the dorm style rooms. It's a 2 minute walk, so not a big deal. Location was great! Fast walk to most sights and close to so many great food options. Highly reccomend, would stay here again.
