We had five rooms for three nights last year. Would never stay here again. Advised my travel agent as well not to book this for anyone. She tried to get a response from the hoteliers but they didn't care. The walls and doors are so thin and not soundproof at all. You can hear EVERYTHING going on in other rooms and in the lobby. When we arrived, the Front desk told me there wasn’t hot water in one of the rooms. It was Solar, so maybe during the day. Nope, no hot water. When I voiced my concern the next day, he kept asking me questions like did I let it run for a while, what did I want from him (hot water), etc. The beds were rock hard with very old covers on them, only one pillow, extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom (with no hot water) had a moldy gross shower curtain. When we returned after sightseeing on the second day, there was no maid service. When I asked for a clean towel because my other one had to wipe up the water from the floor due to the poor design of the shower, it was like I was asking for free room! (Which I should get for the dirty condition and no hot water). The pathetic breakfast was just that…pathetic. I kept trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but finally, I asked to speak to a manager. The guy told me they were based in Athens, and were gone for the weekend. Right… The guy at the front desk didn’t know much about the area, or getting to Fira. “Take the bus,” but by the time I walked to the bus stop, I was half way there. I do not recommend this hotel and will not be staying there again.

ABSOLUTE SCAM This hotel has some of the worst service that I have experienced in my life got absolutely scammed at reception with a $13 EURO ($21 AUD) charge for having a small amount of makeup on one of their towels. Apparently the laundry at Nikos Hotel cannot figure out how to wash out some makeup from a towel, which calls into question how well they are able to wash their other linens or towels. The lady at reception said the towel can never be used again and that laundry would wash the towel but the hotel can never use the towel again. Somehow some foundation and mascara has completely ruined this towel and no amount of explaining to reception that some detergent and bleach could easily fix the ‘stain’ seemed to be good enough for her. She was rude and unwilling to understand that the towel was NOT ruined. Spoke to multiple other people including my roommates and multiple people left visible makeup on their towels. I know other friends staying at the hotel experienced her being unpleasant when ordering food from the hotel taking over an hour to receive some gyros and burgers. The only good service was from the pool bartender Karl who also manned the breakfast room and was a genuinely lovely person. ALSO The “rules” they give you don’t include makeup and only mention ‘fake tan’ as damaging to towels.
