Nimman Mai Design Hotel Chiang Mai

It's a great hotel. I stayed there for 2 weeks. It has a breakfast buffet every morning, an elevator, good air conditioning, house cleaning, and a small pool. It's clean and in a safe area. There are very good restaurants right outside the front door. Down the street is Maya mall, Nimman One mall and food court, White Market, Think Park, and of course, night markets on certain nights. Bolt rides are usually 70-100Baht to get around anywhere local when you don't feel like walking. The management and staff were always nice and cheerful. They were very accommodating.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel. Advertising as such is misleading. This has nothing to do with the service. The service was 5 star including those working at the front desk. Unfortunately that couldn’t make up for the shortcomings of this hotel. We booked the “so cozy” room through our travel agent. It appears that the room names have since changed on their website but it was a room with a picture of a jacuzzi bathtub overlooking the city. Well little did we know that a room with a bathtub would be in lieu of a shower. No shower whatsoever. Just a bathtub that didn’t even have a place to hang the shower head to make it feel like a shower. No curtain around it, just to cover the windows. Which god forbid you left open because the next hotels were so close they’d be able to see everything. The room was extremely outdated. I saw a response from the hotel on another post saying this was the style of the room. No. The lights were being held up by paper clips (see pics attached) the phone looked like it was something out of the 1980s. There are no real amenities. The pool is more for decoration because it’s tiny. They didn’t even have body lotion in the rooms. In addition, on the morning we checked out the room stunk of cigarette smoke. Someone was obviously smoking in a nearby room and the air was circulating into our room. To be fair we were leaving so we didn’t give the hotel the ability to make this right but it was still annoying and a health hazard. Overall, the location was nice but there were so many hotels in this area that you would have plenty to choose from if location is important to you. Honestly if this was described as a 2 or 3 star hotel then I don’t think I would have been as disappointed. It’s a safe place to sleep at night and close to nearby attractions. However, it is very misleading to advertise this as a 4 star hotel. After looking through reviews on many other websites, I wonder if this is getting confused with other hotels with similar names in the area (leading to artificially inflated positive reviews). If you’re looking for location as number one then this is an ok place to stay. But make sure to go in with minimal expectations.
