I only visited the downstairs cafe, but it was incredibly good. Great overall vibe, cute cat, and the staff was also super friendly. We ended up having a long talk and got a bunch of good tourism advice. She spoke English and Japanese really well. The espresso I had was fantastic, but there were also a variety of teas and even some craft beers on the menu. Would definitely go back for more.

This place is both a hotel and a café. I am leaving this review as a hotel customer. I would say this place is not the one to go to if you're looking for value for money, but it is indeed a charming and unique accommodation. Despite being spacious and tastefully decorated, my room did not have any windows which I found very unappealing. A plus point was the large and comfortable bathroom with a very nice bath tub (again no windows). The price does not include any coffee or food. The hotel is located in a very convenient part of town, walking distance to the main station as well as beitou metro station. Beautiful dihua street is also around the corner. Overall a pleasant stay although I am not sure the price is justified for the offering.

I think this is a very unique hotel, and I really love the retro concept and design they try to maintain in the atmosphere. Over all I enjoyed my stay. Will recommend to others. With that being said, I found unlocking the front entrance with the electronic key pad very difficult to use during after hours.

Messaged the owner 1 month before. Was ignored. Messaged again. No reply. Only bothered to reply 1 day before I check in, creating a lot of inconvenience for myself while making things easy for them. Arrived the day of check in in the afternoon and entire hotel was locked. It was hot and raining and I just came back from a train ride carrying on my shoulders heavy luggage which I could not put on the wet road. Only a note to call a Taiwanese number which I do not have a local phone. Had to knock really hard to get the owners attention. No sincere apology after I was let in. No, it’s not Ok to lock out customers who may want to come early to wait around in the lobby to check in or may want to drop off bags. Overall with these examples and a few others, I felt they were a little arrogant and I was not welcomed. They were more concerned about making things convenient for themselves than their customers. Note: heavy construction/noise during day time across the street which I will say, it’s not their fault.
