Nice hotel. Very private. Great service. Good food. Great pool and spa. Location is central so you can walk a lot around. Lots of shops restaurants, temples and fun places. We arrived when rice had already been collected from the fields so exterior looked less impressive, but only esthetic issue. Rest was perfect.

Good hotel. Great location. The grounds were immaculately maintained. The room was a bit small. There’s two reasons I’m 1,6hotel five stars. First of all the (western) breakfast was very limited. It’s fine if you have a sweet tooth but there were hardly any savory options provided. No cheese, no cold cuts. Just pastry, jelly, pancakes, fruit, cake, etc. It was one big sugar rush. On top of that the staff seemed very inexperienced which made it hard for he to enjoy breakfast. They kept taking away our plates and cutlery while we were still eating. It was hard to have breakfast in peace. Our other problem was with our request for an extra bed. We booked for three people (two adults and our 3 year old daughter). After booking we discovered there was no bed for our daughter in the room which was quite odd since we booked for three people but was partly our fault too I guess for not looking. For this reason we requested an extra bed. They quickly sent us a message that that was possible if we paid an extra 1.6 million IDR. That’s more than 100 euros. Of course we understand that setting up the bed and making it every day takes time and costs them money, but a 100 euros seems a bit steep so that’s what I messaged them back. 100 euros is the price of buying a bed in Bali. They replied that we could discuss the price and that they could give us a special price at checkin on site. However, when we were there they were firm in holding on to the price of 1,6million IDR. We were tired of being stuck in Bali traffic for more than an hour and we needed the bed so we accepted, but we did feel lured there. If they had let us known in advance that the price was firm we would’ve probably cancelled and looked for different accomodation. All in all we had a nice stay but for the money we could’ve stayed somewhere nicer.

One of the most memorable places I have ever experienced with an open and spacious area and limited rooms Plataran offers a calm and relaxing ambiance. The hospitality of the crews from Yumas and Gusti to All of The FO Teams was outstanding. One of my complaints would be the connecting door at room 1205 needs a better seal I can peek at the room next door between the gap, and the sound insulation also needs to be added as any sounds coming from the connected room can be heard clearly. Overall a pleasing experience.

Plataran Ubud is not just a place, but an experience. The hotel is not just one building, but is a cluster of smaller buildings on a large compound, which provides many photo opportunities. There were plenty of free guest activities available, which my husband and I loved. The staff were all so kind and friendly. We had a memorable stay in Bali thanks to Plataran.
