Point Break Cottage

Can’t be less than 3/5 stars, but sadly can’t be more than 3/5. Why it can’t be less than 3 stars: Good location, cool security/safety measures, very good/secure off-street parking, decent pool/restaurant, rooms are great price/affordable, lots of options of rooms from studios to penthouse - the one bedroom I stayed in was nice and spacious. Rooms have most things you need but don't think of, like plugs next to the bed, good shower, , and lots of nice-to-haves and the bed was comfortable. Highlight is definitely the pool and restaurant. Why it can’t be more than 3 stars: To sum it up, this is not a hotel, think about it more like a collection of serviced AirBnB apartments with someone on site to grant you access (and a shared pool/restaurant). Maybe it's missing a manager... There are some great parts, but a lot of things are very not well designed or very worn out. e.g. no slant on the sink to drain water for drying dishes, our bedroom door needed to be slammed to close, balcony doors did not align so couldn’t lock them, no cupboard but just a rail in the bedroom to hang clothes in the room, the air conditioner was next to the bed and made the person sleeping next to it freezing, and didn't cool much else (the living room got very hot in the afternoons as AC couldn't cool beyond bedroom). More wear and tear than I’ve seen in other apart hotels I’ve stayed in. I also think there is no service lift, so sometimes the lifts smells like trash, sometimes cleaning products. Somewhat more annoying was there appears to be no communication between the staff. I asked for a late checkout to finish some work, had the DND sign on the door, but had 3 separate cleaners entered the room. I also had a WiFi issue in the room and trying to explain this to the on-site staff felt very painful.

Convenient location but honestly very low hygiene and not much assistance with that! The bathroom STINKS of sewage and the bathroom door is RIGHT NEXT TO THE BED. Honestly disgusting. Management sent “maintenance” who literally put floor cleaner down the drain (which blocked the smell with a very strong chemical smell, then it was washed off) - didn’t really help. When we checked in, bedding was clearly not changed from the previous guest - it was all wrinkled and there were 3 strands of hair IN THE BED. When I asked them to change the sheets, housekeeping literally picked out the hairs off the bed and thought that all’s good, until I asked her to change the sheets. Seriously grossed out and will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.
