Been here for lunch. Great place, great food, affordable price. Jumbo prawns for 55k tsh. Very cool area to chill out. Incredible sunset, dunno about the rooms, but other guest fron the hotel were coming back multiple times.. Strong tide phenomenon, small beach, but very amazing place. I'll come back to say here more.

Promised Land is an unique location. Many relaxing area’s; big garden; food was very good - it takes some time, but it was very good; staff very friendly; very fine pool. We missed atmosphere at the bar. No real music; quite some drinks were not available and on moments nobody was present to serve. We would have spend more time/money there if the bar was more lively. Reception is at the bar. On arrival we didn't feel a warm welcome. Overall its a ‘must go’ place. Staff members like Alex and the cleaning ladies deserve compliments.

I hate writing reviews like this and usually try to refrain from it, but hope this serves as a notice for improvement and growth. I won’t even beat around the bush, I feel you get an incredibly different experience being a white foreigner vs a black foreigner. Nothing against my white brothers and sisters happy they get to have a good experience here, just sad seeing the vast contrast happening before your eyes. The instant we walked in, we weren’t offered any service nor menus. While our neighbours get greeted and asked if they’re enjoying their experience. Now onto food, which was probably why you’d want to come here in the first place. Sadly enough, It’s nothing to write home about. With the price you’ll pay, you’d expect not to wrap your own food in tinfoil just to get it to go. We ordered pasta, which was stale and bland. I’d hate to be a negative Nancy and that’s why I’ll acknowledge that they had good calamari. The only thing I enjoyed besides the cats and dogs. Yeah, forgot to mention how I was the only one told to go pay at the bar, while the rest had this amazing opportunity to have their bill brought to their tables. Had to correct them on the amount as well. I wish I was making this up and hope it’s a one off occurrence, just take this review into consideration when planing on eating here. You wouldn’t want your wonderful day to be soiled by the service here.

We booked Promised Land as a treat for the end of our holidays in Zanzibar and what a treat it was! The location is absolutely amazing for a chilled few days. We paid a little extra and got a room with an oceanfront view- and man was it worth it! The staff, the lodge, decorations and design, free kayaks, access to pool, fire pit, badminton, cashless bar and very relaxed vibes thorough the place? What more to wish for?! The view are incredible and sunsets absolutely breath-taking. The food is ok given the prices, although we thought it was a little bland. The only thing we think could be improved is the shower drainage- our showers had to be rather quick in order not to flood the entire bathroom.. The staff's care and chilled vibes more than compensated for anything that was not perfect. We still look at the pictures from this picturesque place and cannot believe our eyes. This was definitely our favourite place in Zanzibar and we highly recommend everyone to come and stay. Thanks to everyone at Promised Land for our great stay.

It was amazing stay. Friendly stuff, smiling daily, location is for couples or friends as there is a bar with music, pool, cozy romantic atmosphere. We enjoyed sea view, dolphins trip, sunset and sunrise, and room also is equipped with needful things as towels,gel, shampoo but better to take your personal if you use a lot of hygiene products. Small details are that no shops around. Overall, great time ❤❤❤❤
