I was astounded by the exceptional experience during my stay. The warm reception we received upon arrival was truly delightful. The Telegraph exceeded my usual accommodations in terms of elegance and sophistication. Its prime location and meticulously soundproofed, well-appointed rooms further enhanced our satisfaction. The staff exhibited a remarkable blend of friendliness and professionalism, leaving us with a genuine sense of being well-cared-for.

I stayed in over 100 hotels and I can confidently say that this hotel was the worst experience. Firstly, it’s not a 5-star hotel if you’re used to European or American standards. More like, 2 or 3 stars. The room smelled terribly and was full of mold. And it’s not an exaggeration. Inhaling mold is not only highly unplesant but is also dangerous for your health, especially if you have asthma. My partner literally had to sleep with a mask on. And it’s no wonder that the room was full of mold, given the room didn’t have any single window and the ventilation system was dead in the shower. Secondly, the rooms are extremely small, smaller than those in 3-star hotels in Singapore. In fact, the room was so small it was difficult to open up a big luggage let alone the other 2 cabin bags. Thirdly, the design of the place is best described as “over the place” and is in need of a serious renovation. It’s often the case that the design resembles the movie called “The Shining”. Overall, I strongly do not recommend staying in this Hotel, ESPECIALLY taking into account it’s high price point. You will be better off paying slightly more and staying in a MUCH better 5-star Hotel nearby or paying half the price and staying in a much better 3-star Hotel outside of the CBD.

We recently stayed at this hotel. It’s in a great location and is a lovely old building with really nice decor and staff. It’s a real shame that the room we stayed in was so damp and smelled mouldy. We spoke to other guests and all the guests that had rooms on the same side as us had the same complaint. Guests staying on the “Heritage” side had no complaints. All our clothes and any paperwork we had ended up damp. This type of environment is very unhealthy for people that suffer from respiratory complaints. Keep this in mind when booking. Surely the management need to address this issue.. There is clearly something wrong with the a/c system.

I'm reposting my review, which was previously removed. Given that other reviews continue to mention unresolved issues with dampness and mold, I feel it's important to share my experience again. We stayed in a deluxe room for three nights. As soon as we entered, we felt dampness and a musty odor. Because the windows couldn't be opened, we had to spend the night in this moldy-smelling room. The next day, we changed rooms. The new room smelled better, but it still felt very damp, and the bed linens felt wet, which was very uncomfortable. The room's humidity was so bad that when we measured it with a hygrometer, it read 97%. This reading was taken right after I returned from being outside for several hours, and by that time, we hadn't used the shower room. There was no dehumidifier, and the air conditioner didn't have a dehumidifying feature. Also, the room was cold even without the air conditioner because cold air from the hallway entered through gaps in the door. If this were a cheap hotel, we might understand, but Hotel Telegraph is a five-star hotel. We didn't think the quality matched the price at all. The positives were that the hotel was conveniently close to Satay Street and the MRT stations.
