Staff were nice, especially the lady who checked me out. The room was a little dated and smelt like someone may have smoked in there before me. The bathroom was really clean and great water pressure in the shower. There were quite a few cockroachea that were emerging from the back of the TV. I was on the first floor and the room directly below me was very loud and arguing with their neighbouring room who asked them politely to lower the noise at 430am. Needless to say my sleep stopped there as well. Not sure if I would go back to be honest.

Another jewel of a hotel in East Newcastle. Not 5 stars in the traditional sense but the room (studio) was brilliant and even had an internal courtyard. Staff very helpful and within a very easy walk of great restaurants and coffee shops. No hesitation in recommending

Stayed here around a month ago, checked in late. All went ok with check in ,got to our room hallway smelt of cigarettes and could tell people had been smoking inside the hallway out the windows, ash flicked out on the floors. Had to block under the door with a blanket to prevent cigarette smoke coming into the room during the night. From 10pm-4am NON STOP Banging, doors slamming, yelling in the outer hallway all coming from the neighbouring room. With the bare minimum sleep, woke up early to go and find cockroaches scuttling along the wall and jug. Was the closest accommodation to stay at short notice for us, definitely would've drove 2hours back home instead of a night there unfortunately will not be returning.

Quest Ponsonby is the best Quest we've experienced so far with 2 adults and 2 children! The rooms are spacious, and the lounge furniture arrangement is perfect. The addition of a decent-sized dining table was a pleasant surprise. The view of the park and Sky Tower is fantastic. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Plus, the secure parking access surpasses other places we've stayed at. Would definitely stay at again.
