Wrong photo of the front of the premises Reception not staffed full time 3 flights of stairs and no lift Room tiny Can not close bathroom door unless stood in shower No chair or table Not enough space for a tall or large person Good points : very clean. Very powerful shower and lots of hot water. Good mattress

We enjoyed our stay here. Pablo and his mum and dad are so sweet and lovely. They made us feel very welcome and told us the best local places to eat and visit. It's basic and quirky, close enough to city centre, the metros close by plus local buses.

Very basic hotel but okay for the price. Had a basement room and it was clean and tidy. Hotel is about 30 minute walk to the tourist area of Porto. The area the hotel is in isn't great, however has bakeries around for coffee in morning. Next time I personally would spend more for a better location and experience.

Little expensive, is not closer to the city center. The room was in a basement, bad ventilation, only 2 electric outlet in a room for several people, bathroom without it. The roof access was very low 1.75cm, is easy hit with him. Overly friendly staff, they delayed 30 minutes for give us the keys. We were recommened only the most expensive places in the neighborhood to eat for 15€, when is possible with 4. Have a lidl very near (5min) and the bakery in front is nice and cheap.

There are two buildings of pensão Residencial Vale Formoso. This is a filial or subsidiary. You have to check out whether your room is in main building or in subsidiary before checking in. If it’s in subsidiary you have to go through complicated check in process. Better ask a taxi driver to drop off at the main building first and wait until you call the receptionist to the taxi. The receptionist will hop on the taxi with you to the subsidiary and make a check in procedure there.
