Great hotel in the heart of Amsterdam! Helpful staff (special thanks to Stella at the reception)! Really rich breakfast (omelette, pancakes, cheese, sausages, honey, jams, butter, cakes, yogurt, fruit, cereal etc). Very clean and cozy rooms. I would recommend it for sure!

The service was exceptional! Especially the check-in experience! My adult daughter and I arrived at the hotel in Amsterdam directly after our flights from the US and it was very early (around 10am). We knew our rooms wouldn't be ready until 3pm but they said "maybe by 1pm" and offered the use of their luggage storage room while we wandered about while waiting. We ate a nice brunch at a local place and then went back to the hotel about 1130am to chill in the lobby as it was cold and rainy out. Soon after, a front desk person came over and addressed me by name and said they had one room ready if we wanted it so we could at least get our luggage upstairs and get some privacy. We brought our luggage upstairs and I let my daughter rest off some jet-lag while I went out for just a little bit more. Not long after, the front desk person came back over and gave me the key to my room. My room was a nice size and they put me and my daughter is rooms that were relatively close. The hotel is right in the middle of things and the location was awesome!

Hello, We stayed in August. I found the front Desk man very helpful and friendly. The woman with the dark hair and glasses --very unfriendly with an unattractive shrewd look on her face. Very smug, and she should not be in the field of Customer Service. The rooms are very drab and a bit depressing. Very low scale. Location is pretty good, that is the only good quality. Find this woman another job behind the scenes, she should not be working with the public in this atmosphere. We are verified guests.

Stayed at the RHO many times. Great location right at Dam Square. Free breakfast is good. Staff good. Housekeeping good. Rooms are dated and dorm like but in my experience the location and cost was more valuable than higher end accommodations. I’d recommend if going to Amsterdam central but keep an eye out as all hotels in this location are expensive and for a few more euros there may be better accommodations.
