Good for the cost. In an area near many restaurants, bars, and shops. Not for those who are picky about upkeep though since the rooms are a bit outdated.

I would like to mention how accommodating and friendly the Royal Guesthouse staff was to me! It's not a five star hotel but they will go the extra mile to meet any needs or concerns that you may have. My room was clean and I actually ended up staying there an extra 3 weeks because of their hospitality. Monica, at the front desk, went above and beyond to accommodate my situation while I stayed there. Also, it's located within very convenient area!

I stayed two nights at this place and for $10 per night it was perfect. The staff are all very helpful and polite. The son of the owner speaks perfect (Aussy) English. They were only too happy to store my bicycle indoors, which no other place nearby could or would do. If you're on the top floor you have 5 flights of stairs to climb, no issues for able bodied travellers of course! In all I would highly recommend this place

Rooms are pretty clean, the room doesn't get hot at all when using the aircon which is great. Most of the staff are fantastic. However, they did forget to change the toilet roll and the bins. Not a huge issue as itself cheap enough to get your own. There is a laundry place next door which is owned by the hotel also, very handy. Bit expensive compared to others but convenient. The entrance has big cosy seats which is great for chilling out at night with a few drinks. Ricky, is great. Works at night and looks after the hotel. He's American so it's great to talk to him if you're new to the country. He knows his stuff about music, so you'll have a very long chat with him if your into that.
