San Lorenzo Apartment

I am surprised to see the low ratings on Google for this place. We have stayed for the past 2 nights and I have only positive things to say. The apartment is very close to the train station and is within walking distance of many popular locations in Florence. We were a little late getting in from our train and Lorenzo was patiently waiting for us. He was helpful in getting our luggage to the room, had very good suggestions, and answered all our questions. I read some complaints that the apartment is old and comments about Lorenzo's English. Folks, you are visiting ITALY, not the United States. Not everyone will speak perfect English. But he made a good effort and was definitely able to communicate. This city is old and there is a lot of history here. If you want to live in the middle of it, things will be a bit dated. This apartment has been in Lorenzo's family since the 1700's! There is original artwork from back then on the walls! That being said, the unit has been updated with modern appliances and coocktop, air conditioning, etc. We have not encountered any smells and have had a great trip. If you want a fancy hotel experience, stay at a hotel. If you want to be in the heart of the city and experience it, stay here!
