Great location for a central Amsterdam stay. Rooms are basic but have everything you need. Stairs are steep but so are all of them in Amsterdam, the slowest lift in the country is available though. Great location but also quiet because it's tucked away, Lidl about 4 minutes walk from the hotel to pick up anything you couldn't take through the airport. €50 security deposit required when you check in and pay the city tax, got refunded back within 24 hours of leaving. If you're a foreigner like we were don't bother with the advertised taxis etc, there's a tram stop 7 minutes walk on Leidesplein which will connect you to the entire city.

Mold on wall, broken hairdryer, leaky ceiling, very steep dangerous stairs, one receptionist said we could use the lift but then the other one said it would get stuck so don't use it. Also the shower hose was busted and sprayed out everywhere, the water from the shower spreads out over the entire bathroom floor. Good for 1 night as in a good location.

Very basic room with an entirely stupid wet room/bathroom which allows water from the shower to immerse the entire bathroom floor and leak into the bedroom, hence the waterproof floor in the bedroom. The stairs are quite steep and narrow and should be avoided by anyone with mobility issues.

I wish I hadn’t stayed at Sara’s Boutique and recommend that others avoid it at all costs! The only ok thing was the location, everything else was terrible. Room smelt very musty, and water went everywhere after a shower. Sheets were very thread bare and also stained (see photos). The walls had marks and cob webs all over them. The walls are also very thin - which meant you could hear all noises outside the room and window. There were also mosquitoes in the room, which meant a bad sleep and several bites on my legs. The stairs are very steep and like others say the lift is slow. I can’t understand why a €50 security deposit is required, when there is no way this place could be made any worse! I also don’t know how this place has any positive reviews. The accommodation is also not cheap considering all of the above. Overall the place is unclean, and in need of a massive upgrade. I ended up booking another place for my last night. For your own mental and physical wellbeing, do not stay at this place!

To avoid at all cost if you have the slightest sense of hygiene. On the pictures, it will look alright. But once you notice the first stain, you are in for a treat. You will have the choice between urine, vomit, or period stains (just to mention the most obvious body fluids) on the mattress, and even some presents left from your predecessors under the bed ! Let our mistake be a lesson for future travelers, stay somewhere else.
