Great location. Hotel was large but quiet, in the Rittenhouse area, close to Center City. Rooms were clean and spacious, but bathrooms could use some updating, the wallpaper was peeling. Staff were friendly and helpful with local recommendations. Seems like all American hotels are skimping on cleaning services, but the housekeeping staff did check to see if I needed anything... even if they didn't do a full room clean. 8/10

Last weekend, my husband and I decided to take a quick trip to Philadelphia with our fur baby. We were thrilled to find out that the Sonesta hotel was pet friendly, so we booked our stay there. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they even had a special treat for our dog at check-in. Janelle, the manager, truly went above and beyond to make our stay outstanding. She gave us great recommendations for pet-friendly activities and restaurants in the area, and even arranged for a dog sitter for us one evening so we could have a night out. We were so grateful for her kindness and attentiveness. Our stay at the Sonesta was truly amazing, and we can't wait to come back again with our furry friend.

This hotel was beautiful and had everything you could want! Restaurants, snack&drink bar, steakhouse, Starbucks and great location. The rooms were very nice and big. The staff was friendly and inviting and made us feel welcome.

You get what you pay for. Mostly. The location is perfect for Rittenhouse and Center City destinations. The building is mid market acceptably clean and maintained. The rooms could use a deep clean and refresh. The bed was good. Considering the price point and the much higher rates of surrounding hotels, it’s a good value if you adjust your expectations. I’m not sure how they justify the $20 per day “destination” fee. The valet parking takes longer than you would expect to get your car, even when there is little in/out demand. Would I stay again? Maybe, but you get what you pay for.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. Everything else goes downhill after that component is taken away. I stayed here for 3 nights for a conference in Philly and while the housekeeping changed towels each morning, they did not clean away coffee cups, nor replenished the coffee sachets or lotion bottles that were puny in size to begin with. I was not made aware by the check-in staff that my booking included breakfast. So, while my hotel stay breakfast, I ended up buying breakfast from outside each morning! In any case, the breakfast or bar or whatever area they had was so dimly lit, I do not think anyone would know that they serve breakfast. Finally, at the time of checkout, I asked the staff to send me my hotel bill over email. They said they would and never did. It took me 3 calls made over one week and one painfully long hold over 30 minutes to finally get the billing issue resolved!
