The room was ok, but stuffy. Stayed in January, but had to shut the heat off because it was so hot. We opened the window for air, but the smell of the canal was disgusting! Bed was ok, pillows were not. Centrally located, but beware, the restaurants around are touristy and very low quality. Need to venture out to get real food. Would not stay here again.

The rooms we had were a little small in the air conditioners were not the best, but they were well appointed and comfortable. The staff throughout were sensational, and certainly deserve every accolade. The location of this hotel is perfect and I would highly recommend visitors. I will certainly be back.

The Splendid Hotel is just that....SPLENDID indeed! The location near the city's hub, St Marks square and within a short walk of iconic landmarks, makes this hotel worth it's weight in gold. Well not gold...that would sink the building into the marshy earth below. Ugg....Not good! But everything else about the hotel is...... good. You can catch a gondola ride or water taxi from the hotel's entrance on a handy canal. It's all quite charming and enchanting to say the least.
