Thantara will always hold a special place in my heart! When we checked out after a week, I genuinely felt sad to leave even though my actual holiday is far from over and that’s because of the beautiful resort and everyone that looks after you there. Room 112 was absolutely perfect because every morning I woke up and watched the Geese in the lake with a cuppa and the sun was over the pool by 11. The rooms are just a kitchen off being a villa and are immaculate! Gorgeous bathtub and a lovely clean and comfy bed was perfect! The food is outstanding and if you ask for spicy, they won’t disappoint! The gardening team and everyone who looks after the resort are super friendly including the security team! The bikes are a super lovely touch but could do with upgrading or inform guests that they are allocated to guests as mine kept getting pinched by someone who left their faulty bike in its place but the team replaced them quickly and it was quite funny in the end. Don’t miss out on going to Thantara if you’re in Chiang Mai but take provisions if your a snacker due to location!

The place was serene and lovely. We went there for a relaxing stay. We enjoyed cycling around and exploring the resort. Pretty big place. The villas were clean and the bathrooms huge. The pool was tiny but big enough for an adult and a kid to splash around. Not for serious swimming. Staff are polite and attentive. I think it’s typical of Thai people. Always polite and friendly with a ready smile. The included breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. There are no other places to eat so we had no choice. The vegetables always look overcooked like some leftovers from the day before. They do a good omelette. Otherwise every morning the food was the same except for the day when they had noodles instead of fried rice. There was a decent salad bar and pastry but not enough fruits. We had dinner once. It was very good. Although not many variety but the food was good. Distance from the town is about 20 mins by car. Grab was easily available. Overall I’d definitely go back again. Good place to de stress.

Took a solo trip with the full intention of just relaxing. Not traveling or sightseeing, but just relaxing. The property and staff at Thantara made sure that was possible. The rooms were extremely cleaned and well maintained. The entire staff knew my name, the cuisine was delicious, the staff was so attentive and responsive. I would definitely recommend. If you want to be in the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai, this is a little outside of the city which is exactly what I wanted. The views are gorgeous, the grounds are wonderful, I definitely recommend a stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed in this resort for 4 nights in early October. Everything was absolutely perfect, the resort is very beautiful and big, they provide you a bicycle to ride in the resort, or they also provide club car to drive you to designated places in resort. We had in-villa BBQ, floating breakfast, picnic, afternoon tea, and 2-hour in-villa thai massage. The resort was quite far away from the town centre, we had to call taxi to go out, but we enjoyed the quiet time in resort, since there are only 20 houses, the whole resort is very peaceful and quiet. At night, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not expensive around 1700 baht for 2 drinks and 2 meals, the service was very good and the food was delicious as well. Theres also a coffee shop Rice Life Cafe, the drinks there are really good! We rode to the cafe in morning and return to the villa for swimming in the afternoon. You dont have to worry about no food in the resort, the cafe close at 6pm, and the restaurant close at 10pm. Every staff was cheerful, polite, friendly and considerate. Ive never encountered such perfect service in other hotels. Especially the girl named Violet, and the manager named Win. We definitely will come back to this resort very soon.

This place has redefined what giving a place 5 start means for me. I would give it more if I could. This is one of the BEST places you could stay at. The property is insanely beautiful. The rooms are excellent and well maintained, and these aren't even the best things about the place. What makes the place truly special is the service, hospitality and care each staff member puts in to make your experience memorable. For instance, the hotel staff made sure everyday that my dietary restrictions were met and there was ample food for the entire stay. Moreover, they cared enough to prepare "early breakfast box" for my 4am checkout just to make sure I had something to eat. And this is just one in many things they took care of throughout the stay. I simply can't recommend this place enough.
