Nice hotel. Self check-in with a gift of a free beer. Unfortunately there were none when we checked in. The rooms are large(at least the one we had). It would be nice if the rooms had a little more functional shelves or seating. The bathroom is very large, but lacking anywhere for you to put your things while in the bathroom. Everything was clean and check-in was easy. There is a kettle in the room with instant coffee, tea and cookies, which is a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the pillow great. A clock would had been a great addition to the room. There is plenty of lighting, both above and table lamps. The room also has a small fan which was great at night to circulate the air. There are a few mirrors in the room which is helpful for multiple people getting ready at the same time. Overall the hotel was a fun find and the rooms are beautiful. The location of the hotels is in a busy part of town. There are plenty of amazing food options around. We enjoyed our stay here at 1852.

The 1852 may have no reception or many staff, you're more or less left to your own devices, but we enjoyed our stay. The self- check in was straight forward and handy (if I can do it anyone can), and the complimentary bottle of Rockshore was appreciated. My advice is to complete the self- check in online before arrival as it will save time. The room was spacious and well equipped, the bathroom was also well-sized and you were guaranteed a hot shower, unlike other hotels I've been in. The 1852 is ideally located in the Botanic area of Belfast with many cafés and bars nearby. It is only a 10/15 minute walk to the city centre. If you seek all the amenities of a 3/4 star hotel, then The 1852 isn't for you. If you want a room to stay in an ideal location then The 1852 is perfect.
