The hotel felt more like a motel. We were on the 4th floor and as soon as we walked in it smelled horribly. The bath tub was dirty and the TV didn't work. They ended up moving us into a different room on the same floor. This room didn't smell as bad but the shower had mold. The bed itself was sunken into and the pillows were yellow. The heater unit blew cold air sometimes and a smell as if something was burning. On top of that it kept turning off an on, it wasn't really consistent. There is a old bald Indian man at the front desk that worked at night who is very rude. I don't really write reviews and I wasn't planning on writing a review. But the old man at the front of the desk was so rude to me and yelled at me when it wasn't necessary. He pushed me to the side once he saw that another couple was trying to check in. Claims that he had to bring the line down but there was literally just one couple behind me. He also claimed to be the manager but didn't give off manager energy he was very unprofessional. Aside from this incident, there was a doorman who was so kind and actually helped me. He even apologized for the front desk man. I wish I would have gotten his name, that man knows how treat guests. Give that man a raise. Jessica at the front desk is also very helpful and kind. I liked that it was only about 5-8 minute walk from times square. The theaters are walking distance and we have a few subway stations nearby. It is a bit dirty around the area which probably explains the roach we saw in the hotel. Also a bit noisy at night which made it more difficult to sleep.

We honestly loved our stay. All the staff were fabulous. The bellhops were so helpful and over the top with kindness. The room was clean, comfortable and very tasteful. I have an overly sensitive nose and the room was completely clear of any irritants or odors of any kind. There were no signs of insects (no bed bugs!) or anything else. I had heard the elevators were slow, but they were not. We never waited more than 15 seconds. I could not possibly come up with anything negative to say about this hotel.

The best part of this hotel is location. If you're doing the "touristy" places, this is a great spot to be. Tons of things are within walking distance, and even more are within a 10/15 minute subway ride. We had no issues with noise at night minus the occasional siren. Location location location. Other than that, it's basically average, maybe even below. It's a very old hotel, and the rooms show it. The TV, which seemed to be 10 years old and maybe 30 inches, didn't work. We tried calling the front desk from the room phone several times and even from our personal phones and no one would pick up. Not that it was a HUGE deal, but when one of the party got sick it would've been nice to have the TV at our disposal. The room was definitely not 100% clean. We could see stains on the wall from where someone must've spilled something off the bedside table. AC and heat worked fine. Staff was friendly and helped us get a taxi on the way back to the airport. For how expensive this place is, it would be nice to have updated rooms/appliances. If you're okay with essentially the basics, a room, a bed, a shower and maybe a tv, this place is "fine". Not amazing, not terrible, just fine. If you can get it during the off season where it's cheaper, it's probably a better deal overall.

This was my first time in Manhattan. The guy with the bald head who checked me in was not very welcoming and I felt rushed. OTHER than that, it was great. Rooms are clean. Housekeeping is great. Location is fantastic. We thought the rooms would be a lot smaller compared to other hotels but they were surprisingly spacious. A little on the higher end in price but well worth it for being 2 minutes from Times Square. All around a great stay, would come back.

Nice views, older building, work out room, laundry room, and free coffee. If you're into architecture with great views this is the place. Everything's in walking distance. Only two complaints, My room was dirty, specifically the floor, under the bed and tables. I wouldn't have know if I didn't drop my phone, also found some lost items from another customer. Second the water faucet in my room didn't shut off. I let the front desk know before we left to go explore. When we came back the water was still on full blast, tried to get sleep that night, but wasn't happening listening to the constant running water from the faucet. Didn't get fixed till the next day. One last thing, caught a perv employee listening to people have sex in the hallway. The walls are thin. The pic is from the 16th floor.
