Amazing staff, was a return visit for us too. We arrived late and had an issue getting into the building at first but the staff member on sight was amazing and arrived within seconds. Breakfast was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again, will definitely be going back ❤️

Booked a Superior Double and was a little disappointed... Room was clean and fresh but it was right next to the front door and a meter away from the guest lounge and main reception, which meant you could hear the front door go and noise levels were quite disturbing when people were checking in and using the guest lounge. The guest lounge TV was turned on (loud) at 7am on both mornings of our stay which woke us up each day - but no one was watching it? Tea and coffee wasnt restocked and no clean cups given on the second day. Breakfast was great - very good variety and the poached eggs were one of the best I have had!

Absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms were lovey and the staff were wonderful. The breakfast is delicious and definitely worth getting. We will most definitely be back in the new year!

We stayed at the Howbeck in The Retreat room for a few nights for my partners birthday, we have stayed at the hotel before in the retreat and we throughly enjoyed it, which is why we returned and booked the same room again. The room has a walk in shower and jacuzzi bath which we enjoyed every day. We had breakfast brought down to our room every morning which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had a problem with the bathroom light not switching on one day and the manager was onto it straight away. The hotel is situated a convenient 5 minute walk to local amenities and a 20 minute walk down to the lake and other shops and restaurants. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely stay.
