I was here for a fisher graduation this weekend. There was a man who was in a suit and glasses who said he was “the av guy” trying to help set up a presentation. He had absolutely no idea what to do. Then, a younger man, who multiple people seemed to know in fisher, that was moving out some tables with food saw that nothing was working, so he popped in to help. Thank god he did! With the event nearly about to start the projector was flashing different colors in the ballroom. The man in the suit was nowhere to be found. I did not see the older gentleman who was supposed to help us the rest of the day. However, the young man helped with the projector and got the microphones set up. He helped the rest of the event and when I asked for his name to give him the recognition, he politely said, “I’m just trying doing my job,” however, I did see his nametag said Micheal. You can definitely tell they are under staffed, however they have a good employee in this young man. It is nice to see that some younger adults still take their jobs seriously!

MAJOR STAFFING SHORTAGE!!! The management at the Blackwell seem COMPLETELY unconcerned about how the lack of maintaining sufficient staffing levels is affecting their existing employees. This problem needs to be address by them ASAP. Quite frankly, it is inexcusable for a 4-star, 151 room hotel to not hire enough employees to meet demand both during football season and after it. As a long-time patron, I am well aware of what is going on at the Blackwell Inn in this regard.

Wow! I don’t even know what to say about this hotel. I stayed here multiple times years ago and they had amazing service! I even met the hotels manager and he really went above and beyond to make my wife’s experience as well as mine. My last two stays here have been very poor. Very noticeable how understaffed they are. Heard loud rap music blaring near the stairs to the lobby. I asked when a hotel manager would be available. They said the assistant manager wasn’t here and the hotels manager wasn’t free to try back. Tried back 2 more times and she was still busy. Poor management! I looked up reviews of the hotel. Between the reviews I saw, the low pay in the job postings, and my (lack of experience) with the hotels new manager. I’m not surprised they’re so low staffed. Will not be returning!
