Visited today for the first time, for my partner's birthday. The decor in the restaurant is airy, welcoming and elegant. We had a lunch reservation on a Sunday, and understandably it was very busy. However when we eventually noticed tables who ordered after us being served, I politely checked that our order hadn't been misplaced. We were assured our meals would be ready in 10 minutes. Nearly 20 minutes later, after seeing another table being served who had arrived at least 20 minutes after we placed our order, I asked again about our meals. The young gentleman serving was most disinterested, cut me off and all but rolled his eyes while I was trying to ask about our food. When the food arrived an hour after our reservation, it was delicious. Roast dinner beautifully done with perfect roast potatoes, and good portion sizes. Thoroughly recommend the food and environment, but for us it was a shame we were discussing the poor service on the way home rather than the lovely food.

My wife and I had lunch at The Carpenters Arms today and what an enjoyable experience. We were greeted by Ben who gave us very attentive service throughout our visit. The food was excellent and with very generous portions. We couldn't believe the size of the interior. The layout of the tables was very good as you are not on top of other customers. Thank you very much once again.

Visited on a rainy Wednesday night, not much atmosphere, decor was modern but not stylish - too busy and bright. Veg risotto lacked flavour, veg was wet. Wine was nice which the waiter recommended. £38 each for a risotto, shared greens and a shared bottle of wine

From being met at the entrance to the whole attention of detail at the Carpenters arms, we were impressed. Carefully laid out, to give a feel of being very spacious and and a dining experience that was second to none. The young waitress that served us today was very professional, it was indeed her first day. I had to complement her on her amazing service. The food was really tasty and presentation was delightful, no complaints at all.. The place was full and had a great atmosphere. Would recommend!
