The Leeson Lodge

Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Upon arriving they gave us a map with points of interest and directions to their car park. Free parking was hard to come by in Dublin, but that was one of the most attractive points when booking this hotel. They even offered to come outside and help us find parking if the car park was full. The one downside to the car park is that the entrance is an extremely tight turn at the end of an alley, so you may have difficulty if you're alone. There is a lift inside, but when we were leaving, it didn't work. This gave us a bit of a struggle getting our larger luggage down the stairs. The room we had was a nice size but a bit worn. It appeared to be a quick renovation. Patchy paint job and carpet a bit away from the wall in areas. Nothing all that bad, but the multiple mystery doors that went nowhere made me a bit uneasy. I felt as if someone would somehow accidentally enter our room, which made falling asleep a bit harder. I am fairly certain one door lead to another guests room, so I am glad they weren't noisy. Otherwise I could see this being an issue for some. The fireplace was quite nice decor though and the balcony was cute. Since there was no screen on the balcony door and no aircon, we had a weird compromise of "how hot do we want to be" vs "how accessible would we want someone from outside to be able to enter." The balcony was overseeing the car park, so the latter was unlikely, but hard to adapt to if you're a nervous foreigner. The bathroom was incredibly tiny and the toilet shared the same floor as the shower. No real place to put your toiletries other than on the sink, which is in the shower. Something to be conscious of if showering in the morning - out of two showers taken, there was enough hot water for only one of them. Overall, the staff is carrying this hotel, as the accommodations are a bit rough around the edges. Great location though. Plenty of coffee shops nearby, 15 minute walk from the city centre, and a 10 minute walk from the beautiful St Stephen's Green.

A very cosy and clean hotel on an excellent location (in a walking distance to see the city's main attractions) and in a safe and quiet area. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel and a stop for airport busses)! Friendly and helpful staff and basic breakfast selection to help you start your day pleasantly!!! Strongly recommend it!!!
