The Leeward Apartments By Lowkl

I reserved a stay here for 10 days, at first, everything was great, easy check-in, the rooms are clean(ish) and the location was difficult to beat for the price. Then the rest of the days happened. So, their parking situation is, to say the least, easy for others to take advantage of. Meaning, that yes, they do go through the motions of taking your license plate number and whatever to "record" your car for your parking space. Which is simple enough, you just park at whatever unit you are staying at. But if you take a look at either side, both the rental properties (similar in style to Leeway) have an actual tow-away sign in their spot, deterring other non-guests from parking in an unauthorized spot. Why is this pertinent information? Because at Leeway, there are no signs, which essentially opens up the spot to anyone who is happy to park there... for as long as they want. They are unable to tow ANYONE away, simply because, from what I can tell, the "parking lot" is much like street parking, and if left unenforced, it's just like parking on the side of the street in a neighborhood. Enter a car, parked in my spot, after coming back from enjoying Fort Lauderdale. I messaged the property manager, Lowkl, and the way that they handled the situation was, to say the least, abhorrent. First, I had to send them pictures, ok fair enough, I sent them the images of the car that was parked in my spot. This was followed by them messaging a guest in another room to have them confirm something, and then I had to verity if the information that this other guest provided was factual, so they will make the guests do ALL the footwork before even coming out to look at what is going on. Then, they told me that they will send a "mass text" to try and get ahold of the owner, which makes no sense because they should have all the information on all the cars for all the guests at the location, however, they were "finding out" to whom this car belongs to. 24 hours later, I have still gotten no update, nor have I been offered to park in another spot while this situation was being sorted. But that takes the cake is that had I not messaged them the following day about the car still occupying my spot, Lowkl, would have NEVER known. The rep literally asked my if the car has moved at all, so that just shows that they didn't even come to the property once to check on the situation. Then, I got worried that I wouldn't have a parking spot, I asked if I was guaranteed a parking spot for the duration of my stay, they refused to answer, and instead, and may I remind you that I had to ask if I could use another parking space instead, NEVER OFFERED. The situation was only resolved when the actual owner of the car decided to move, and Lowkl, the property management company of this property, did nothing about it. Also, they spray pesticide in your rooms, regardless of if it's occupied or not. I believe that the chemicals that they use are, as they claim, human safe, but I just don't know about the fact they spray full force in the kitchen. I feel like, because it's supposedly a monthly thing, it can be timed to be done at a time when there are no guests staying the room (like in between check-out and check-in). There are a handful of, what I can only assume are families that live in Fort Lauderdale, but are, for whatever reason, unable to get a permanent residence, which can lead to some yelling matches between said family members, that will wake the dead. The walls are thin, so you can head your neighbors if they are speaking in more than a classroom level. And as for hot water, the water does get warm, you just have to leave the shoer running for at least three minutes first, with the handle all the way to hot (timed 5 times for accuracy). Overall, I can't un-suggest this place enough. And the really sad part about it is that all the negative things about this property has nothing to with the actual property. It all has to do with the property management company (Lowkl) or perhaps the specific rep that is assigned this property.
