SIMONE IS A LOVELY AND KIND HUMAN BEING. SHE IS CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED, which is what this hotel bar and restaurant DESPERATELY NEED. Front desk service was great, housekeeping is also friendly and helpful. There was one man, whom I encountered, who treated me like an inconvenience, rather than a hotel patron. It was a drastic contrast to the service and genuine friendliness . I come with a group who stays every year for Kennedy Center Honors. I was really happy to see someone who was accommodating to our late work hours. And she makes theeee best old fashioned!!!!! I can’t say enough about her!! She raised the level of service!!

Came in town for work. Great customer service but the beds are HARD AF! Hotel looks beautiful, but the rooms are not clean. Every time my wife and I came back to the room our sinuses went haywire. That's how we know that room was not cleaned. We even found a shirt behind the chair. I'm not gonna talk about the fees. Better to Valet, until they leave for the night.

Will start off with what we liked...it is a good location if you want to explore the area and the staff is helpful and nice. The room was pretty disappointing though, it was clean, but there were several issues. We did stay in January (about 30 outside), but the room did not have a thermostat that changed the temp and we woke up several times throughout the night. Also, we had to turn hot water on 5-10 before wanting to use it, for washing hands and showers, the water was ice cold if not. The room would have been extremely uncomfortable if we were there for longer than one night and we probably would have requested a room change (if other rooms were better) or switched hotels for a longer stay. Also, I don't know if this is average for the area but valet was $68. We used a parking garage that was around the block for $20 a day.

The rooms are comfortable. The best part of this hotel is the customer service. They are accommodating and professional, but what makes them so outstanding is how friendly and personable they are. Leslie was very kind. She also seemed to make all the guests feel comfortable and cared for. She seemed genuinely concerned for the guests well-being, and was also very happy to chat if you wanted to. Overall, highly recommended the Melrose, especially for the wonderful service.

I can’t express in words how great my experience was at the Melrose hotel. Everything was perfect (I.e the bed, the customer service, the sanitization and the cleanliness of the hotel and the promptness to just make sure every guest felt welcome) my husband and I flew to DC from New Zealand and we were exhausted when we arrived , I called ahead of time because we were getting to the hotel late and needed to eat, I asked if they could get me a microwave and by the time I arrived to the hotel the microwave was already placed in my room. The two young black women were extremely professional ( the best night crew ever) and in the morning Sam was more than delightful. He answered all my questions and even took his time to find out what pillows you guys use ( my husband wanted to purchase some because they were amazing) when we are in town I will definitely be back to this hotel.
