Such a beautiful place with so much history! The room was beautiful with some old architecture still in it! I loved going to the Bar Vaux for some small bites first- the whipped ricotta dip and pasta chips was mind blowing! Dinner at Cucina was delicious too! We started with very fresh oysters and an incredible octopus dish. The prime rib was tasty and I loved my lobster risotto. The service at both places was great too! Breakfast at Cafe Calvert was yummy too! The breakfast sandwich would be my first choice and the avocado toast is a close second!

It was great! Except for the ugly addition the put on covering the entry. Be careful you don't hit the concrete that projects into the drive lane when you pull up. Only other thing I would say is the Continental breakfast was very Continental. Extremely light. But all in, a beautiful hotel

We recently had our wedding at The Richardson Hotel. The venue itself is so beautiful and so unique, we are very happy we were able to have our wedding here. Unfortunately, our wedding planning process was very unorganized and disappointing. There was so much turnover and changes with the staff that we never really knew who we were working with. Even on our wedding day, the person we had been working with over the last 3 months did not attend and another person that we hadn’t spoken with in 6 months was in charge. There were so many issues before, during, and after our wedding. To name a few - we had to pass the sales contract back and forth 10+ times due to careless errors we were finding with numbers and clauses, we had so many issues with our guests booking rooms, people were finding rooms cheaper online than what we were given for a “discounted” room block rate, we were told we had to have the ceremony at 4:30pm before the restaurant opens, but then they gave us so many issues about guests checking in earlier than 4pm. The food was very good at our wedding but the entrees served had all the wrong sides (no vegetables were served at all and the other side we had picked during the tasting was also different from what was served). When we gave feedback or attempted to resolve issues, we were met with very aggressive and combative energy. This was especially true of the Area Director of Sales & Marketing - she argued with us and insulted our family, she was very defensive and not accommodating or helpful. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer, it was a truly shocking and saddening experience especially since this was all for our wedding. The management team here needs extensive training in hospitality. I’m happy to have this all behind us but want to encourage other couples to have a wedding planner if you want to have your wedding here. It is so beautiful here but the staff will negatively impact your experience if you are the one working with them to coordinate. Good luck to other couples, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone planning on their own.
