Wonderful resort where I wondered how much of it was older than the United States. Modern where it needs to be. Cleverly constructed to keep it cool, trees growing everywhere. Pool was too cold for me and like the rest on Chiang Mai, the mosquitoes came out at night.

Great location. Super clean rooms and lovely breakfast. Staff very polite and helpful. I especially liked that the decor was in keeping with the environment and while it isn’t a new hotel, that it is a little worn around some edges adds to the charm and makes it even more congruent with the vibe it is trying to achieve.

Large expansive rooms with a view into the garden. Very quiet with sounds of birds (can hear the occasional honks). Had a very pleasant 3 night stay at the Rim. The staff is very courteous and welcoming. Special thanks to the front desk in setting up a tour to Doi Inthanon in the last minute and Wat Phra Singh, is just a block from the hotel :) The food at Canal restaurant is moderately okay. ( The interior and exterior of the restaurant setups the customer for a high quality dining experience but the taste of the food doesn’t deliver. The complimentary breakfast options are good ) The room itself is quite comfy. The bathroom is spacious. But will I stay in the Rim again? I would have to say no. The following is what would make me come back to the Rim. 1. Wifi speeds are non existent. I could only get 4G on AIS in the room that I stayed in. Even that was faster than the wifi. 2. The water in the shower is either scalding hot or very cold. Spent minutes adjusting these, but god! 3. The light switches are scattered throughout. I wish there was a master switch that would avoid me running around and hunting for switches when I am super tired. 4. The food options can be improved. Chiang Mai is famous for Khao Soi, yet a good version of that is not in the menu. 5. The pool for some reason, doesn’t feel clean or inviting. But, the room we stayed in had a nice balcony/sit out area that opens into a garden. Me and my wife got a bottle of Johnny Walked and some nuts from a nearby 7 11 and talked into the night.
