Outstanding service from Gino and the bar staff - the went above and beyond. Emily on the front desk was wonderful. The valet was always quick with the car. The room was large and comfortable. Water pressure in one of the showers slowed to a near trickle. One of the TVs had a bad screen with a football shaped dark area. Housekeeping was very minimal on Friday and then didn't come on Saturday even though I spoke to the cleaner about coming a bit later. Overall, I would stay here again. It was also quite reasonably priced.

This hotel is small but adorable. It is well decorated and taken care of, too. The location is perfect for walking to office buildings, stadiums, and local food spots. The staff are amazing and really make everyone feel like a VIP. The regular rooms do not have a mini fridge but there is a well-stocked snack area on the first floor.

I had a nice week long stay, Jana and Emily and all the staff (always greeted me with a “good morning”) were amazing. The rooms were decent and provided the basic essentials nothing more. The gym was small but surprisingly well equipped, I was able to create good workouts with the equipment available. The restaurants were both decent for a morning breakfast or an evening drink while watching sports. The issue I did have was with the valet. EVERYDAY, it never failed, the valet (multiple different valet workers) would either not be able to find my car (the car they “valet” parked), or run to get the car, but forget the keys, but mostly they just didn’t know where to find my car and I’d see them run to one parking lot, then back across the front of the building where I was waiting and to a different parking lot. This was an issue for me bc I was in town for work and was on a schedule. Sam Houston Curio overall is a good choice, I give it 4 stars because the hotel staff is sharp, I was always greeted with a good morning, and always excelled with priority in fulfilling my request. I’d like to return, but I’m concerned I’d lose patience with the incompetence of the valet, time will tell.

Got a basic room, no upgrade as a Hilton Diamond but it was still comfortable for a two night business stay. Had a slight issue with the AC and Heat as it would either get the room freezing or burning hot. Couldn't find the sweet spot. Service was excellent. They checked up on me multiple times to see what I needed. Location was great, too. Walkable to many restaurants and Minute Maid.
