Nice, clean and modern hotel close to airport. Rooms are big and well done. Bed is comfy. Hotel is located in busy area with lots of eateries in the area. Only downside is pool was cold and the shower did not have hot water, more warm water. Maybe that is because of the heat people don’t want a hot shower.

Staff are excellent, all are nice. friendly and professional. The front desk, reception itself is clean and bright and light and the reception staff are so professional and are so happy to please everyone. Housekeeping staff is so pleasant and they will give you everything you need. Security is topnotch, the guards are always there and easy to ask questions about places, directions etc.

Surprisingly great location! The staff was very friendly, supportive and available 24/7. We did not try the pool and gym. We also did not opt for the breakfast, but the restaurant was pretty expensive and we did not like the food. The bathroom was bit small and cramped. Bed was super cosy and we enjoyed the complimentary water every day. Overall happy with our time there.

This was the second hotel we stayed at in Makati as our first hotel was booked out for the last few days of our stay. The Sphere was perfectly adequate but I have rated it as only 4 stars because I felt it did not represent as good value for money as the first place, and the location was not quite as good from my point of view. The staff were friendly but I would particularly like to thank the security guard who was on duty at the front door for most of our stay - we were always welcomed with a friendly smile from him and he was a great help in hailing taxis and helping us load/unload our luggage. A list of TV channels was provided in our room, but the majority were in fact not available (tv displayed a message that we were not subscribed to those channels). The hotel is located next to an Uncle Johns convenience store and a Starbucks cafe, and is a few hundred meters walk to the Ayala Triangle Gardens. The Shopping Malls are not particularly close, so it is a bit more of a walk to them.

I have already written two TripAdvisor reviews about The Sphere praising the service and the amenities. For this reason, I was extremely disappointed within 30min of checking in during my most recent stay. First, the TV remote was not working. After the technician came and fiddled with it and the Digibox, I found that MORE THAN HALF of the non-local cable CHANNELS LISTED BY THE HOTEL as being supposedly available were NOT. Shouldn’t they have ensured that everything was working BEFORE the guest, who is tired from a flight and preparing for meetings, CHECKS IN? To make matters worse, the two people at the desk whom I called separately were not helpful with their ‘template’ answers of “I understand” and “We will send Engineering” (which was no help at all). The rude, lazy replies of “Uh-hmm” were particularly off-putting. You’re not talking to a peer, a boyfriend, or younger sibling. Also, when you promise to see what you can do, DO something and keep the guest apprised of updates.. There was absolutely NO FOLLOW-THROUGH of their promise to see if they could move me to a better room. SUCH LITTLE THINGS to some, perhaps. But it wasn’t about the TV—- it was the cavalier and lackadaisical response. I am amazed that people in the service industry think “Pasensya” and “I understand” and “Talagang ganyan po kailangan ma-update” are acceptable. I’ve been a world traveller since the mid-70s. It’s never the luxurious facilities or the glitz, but the service and proper communication that puts a hotel a cut above the rest. Only the bell boys, cleaning personnel, and security guards saved the day—- they’re unerringly helpful, cheerful, and polite. I still appreciate the clean room, the big bathrobes, firm mattress, soft pillows, one fluffy towel (the other one wasn’t), the fact that there are sockets everywhere, and location. But this latest experience has made The Sphere a disappointment
