I spent my last night in Istanbul in this hotel. The hotel is not bad for such price. I booked studio type with 2 bedrooms, small pantry, and 1 bathroom. The rooms were spacios, the beds were comfortable. The toilet was clean and the water heater worked perfectly. The main room was equipped with TV. There was no electric water kettle but I asked the reception and they gave one. The staff were really helpful, we even dropped our luggages early in the morning before actually checking in in the afternoon.

I would like to give -5stars if I could. The name of the hotel is Zanadu/Xanadu. It was a nightmare to me and my husband. The room was smelly and with lots of flies and mosquitoes. The dead bodies of the mosquitoes were everywhere; on the bed, below the pillows and on the floor. The toilet was extremely dirty. There were many dead bodies of mosquitoes inside. And we decided not to bath. This was the first night for us in Istanbul and they gave a very bad impression to us. Also, the staff is not helpful actually. They are not willing to find a hairdryer for me. Hairdryer should be a basic facility in hotel room. It is ridiculous that there is no hairdryer. Also, the door cannot be locked. The safety is really a big problem here. For this price, there are much more better choices in Istanbul. Think twice before booking it. And see the pics before!!

Great location and super affordable. The room was quite run down with a lot of marks and cracks on the walls. The bathroom was very dark and small, and the toilet button was broken. The floor was quite dirty. No elevator, and very low ceilings on the stairs, so be careful! The staff kindly gave us a sea view room, after we had booked a standard, so we had a nice view and a balcony. The location really made up for the short falls of this hotel. Within walking distance of all the major sights (grand bazaar, Hagia Sophia etc). Staff were also helpful and friendly.

It's like you are home, the people there are so friendly and laughs with you, the small garden is excellent place to mingle with others and relax after a long day out, so near the tourist area yet far from noise. Restaurants next to it and gift shops are cheaper. Yet cleanings is an issue. That must be improved to be the best hotel. Once you go to the room, its extremely clean, but if you don't ask for a cleaner, they won't enter your room till you leave

If I could give this hotel a zero I would. Dirty rooms, loud environment , and some of the staff are extremely disrespectful and ill-mannered. They told us it was okay to check out late at 5 pm and without informing us or asking us to pack our stuff and leave the room, they went ahead and packed our items into our bags and had access to our private items. Unbelievable and shocking, I have never experienced this before in my life. They didn’t even contact us to ask us to check out or let us know they were accessing our room and packing our things. A rip-off and over charged us for the “service” which was provided. Once we arrived we had to unpack everything to make sure nothing was stolen or missing and on top of that the transfer to the airport they provided is completely overpriced. 1600 lira. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone, completely disrespectful and outrageous service. Please avoid at all costs.
