Thinker Hotel

I caution against staying here if you are traveling solo or couple — specifically because the "standard rooms" (fit for 1-2 travelers) are located right underneath the 7th floor with the family suite rooms, and as many other reviews have noted, there is very very poor soundproofing on the floors. That means that if any family with kids is staying above you, you will hear people walking around and kids jumping in their playrooms as loud stomping sounds throughout the night. The earplugs they provide do little to prevent this as the noise is more like a reverberating bass sound through the floor, as opposed to normal ambient noise. Fundamentally, the hotel needs to address the soundproofing directly by adding measures to the room, whether that's carpeting or improving the foundation of each room. I can't blame the kids (kids will be kids!) and the kind, well-meaning staff tries to help but ultimately can't do much other than issue warnings. In addition, the staff gets off work at 10 PM, so if you have any issues after that, you are in for a sleepless night. The fundamental fault lies with the hotel's improper soundproofing construction. In my room, 605 (which many people have also noted their specific rooms on the 6th floor that have had this issue), I didn't even have a family with kids staying directly above me — they were diagonally above me and even then it was intolerable. So I can only imagine what it's like to be directly under. It was so bad, it was a contributing factor to my checking out of the hotel 1 day earlier. It is very disappointing that the hotel has not done much to address this, as evidenced by past reviews dating up to 3 years prior, this has been an ongoing issue (search up noise and soundproofing issues amongst these reviews). To the management of Thinker Hotel: please fix these issues. Words of: "we're sorry" or "不好意思" don't actually mean much unless you actually fix the problems. The staff tried to offer me a Thinker Hotel branded coaster when I checked out early as an apology and I was like — while I appreciate this small gesture, girl I'm sleep deprived because of this fundamental noise issue that the hotel needs to fix, and declined (I do not want to remember my stay here, to be frank). Other than that, any apologies are empty words and I recommend visitors not stay here.
