Stayed in SS18. Flight arrived into PEK very late, got to the hotel around midnight and the gentleman at the counter was very courteous and checked me in quickly. I did call ahead and let them know about my late arrival. Location is fantastic, I walked to the Forbidden City everyday I stayed here. The common areas were clean and the elevator/carpeting were quite lavish for the price point. Booked the base room which was very large, the bed was comfortable. Only complaint was that it directly faced a grey stone wall so there was next to no view. Bathroom was very clean and the basic amenities were provided. Booked a day tour of the Great Wall out of the hotel travel agency on the first floor, which was reasonably priced and included a delicious lunchtime Chinese style meal. As with many tour services catered towards foreigners, expect a couple of shopping stops along the way. The prices were above average but you're not expected to purchase anything.

Very good location! I needed a room quickly and was not looking to pay a lot. Pictures show very nice rooms. I got a room with no windows. But for the price and location, it's not bad. Room is clean and staff was pleasant. Can't expect much for $70 canadian and this location. So overall it's okay. I'm sure other rooms are great. But obviously will pay more. So just for location alone I'd say try it out.

It's conveniently located in the city center with the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square nearby and the Wangfujing Street commercial center a short walk. Rooms are enough in size and bathroom clean. Amenities includes new toiletries, towels and mineral water everyday. Have water heater for coffee, hair blower, safe and ref. Reasonably priced, too.
