The location is great as it is a short walk to Tofukuji station which is on the JR Nara line and the Keihan line, as well as buses. It was the perfect base for us to explore Kyoto, and we enjoyed the quiet neighbourhood feel of the area. I think cleanliness can be improved as I noticed the AC and fan in the shower room had a lot of built of dust, though we also paid a very reasonable rate so I guess I can't expect perfection. We had trouble getting the AC to work properly (we were there during the heat wave in early September), but luckily they responded quickly and we got it to work.

Perfect spot for travelers to stay multiple days. Comfortable room with a separate toilet and good size bath is a plus. Washer/Dryer combo; freezer and fridge; locking safe; TV. My room has two single beds and a couch. Electronic controls are in Japanese so it's a good idea to have a 'camera translate app' to read all the gadgets. Be advised, the hotel's message to gain entry did not fully explain the process and there was no one at the front desk. First ignore the large digital panel until you get the entry key. Each key box has a number. Instructions said, "Enter the code below the box... Then open the box by pressing the small black button." You must first slide the black key box cover down to expose the lock code numbers. Next rotate the cylinders to match your code. Within the key box, locate the small black switch to the left of the cylinders, press it down to open the key box door and access the key. Finally insert the key into the large digital panel to open the entry door. Last but not least, the room number is on the wooden key chain.

Easily the best hotel I have stayed in. The room size is perfect for 2 people to stay in. There is a small entrance way that connects the bathroom with the bedroom/kitchen. The bathroom is two rooms, the main room with the toilet and basin. Then another small room containing the bath and shower unit, with the toilet being separated by a sliding door. The bedroom is combined with the kitchen and has lots of space. Kitchen has a stove top and microwave. There is also a nice balcony for each room. Local area is quaint and quiet, with Tofukuji station within 2-3 minutes walk. There is a small food area and a Family Mart nearby. Every time I visit Kyoto, I will consider this place first.

Awesome hotel. I expected the room to be tiny but these rooms were like the size of a small apartment. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to check in early as our room was finished and ready to go. As you walk in, there is a area to take off you shoes and a shoe cupboard. There was a door that opens to a hallway that leads to other doors. One opens up to the washroom which separates as a power room and a tub/standing shower on the other side. The other door opened up to the bedroom. The bed was big and comfy. There were also kitchen appliance as well as a washing machine for yoru clothes! The only drawback that I found was that there was minimal charging outlets which was very surprising with all this space. The room was so big I had room to lay out 2 large suitcases and do jumping jacks and there was room for a coffee table and 2 chairs. Blown away with the value. The hotel was very close to Tofukuji station so it makes it very easy to get from Kyoto Station to here. High recommend and will be back if I am ever in the area again!
