This is the most awful place I’ve ever stayed! Extremely dirty. The toliet had recent use stains on it. Dirt and rust on most things. Horrendous

We booked 2 rooms for 4 people at the New Tokyo Hostel however the management insisted we had booked one room. Once they realised their mistake they woke us up at 2am to try and give us a room key for our other room. They said that because they had given it to us at this time they would not refund us the one night in one of the rooms (or anything at all). The area is also very dodgy, people try to sell you drugs just outside, you have to wait in queues for the lift to get to your room, and the rooms are very small (especially with 4 people in one). But none of this is as bad as a management that made us pay for a room we did not receive. Would not recommend.

Chungking Mansions' rooms are actually small for 2 person. That's why i booked a room with 2 double bed which is intended for 4 person. New Tokyo Hotel never failed me. 2double bed ( my son and I had a lot of space!), a safety box, tv, small fridge, 24hr phone service, aircon, electric fan (in case you don't like to use the aircon) hair dryer, clean bathroom with hot and cold water, electric thermo pot 24hr service. This hostel is secured with CCTV. Here are some photos

Avoid this hotel and the management. We were forced into one room and had to share beds even though we had paid for two rooms. The room lacked in bedding and had no towels. No refunds and the management is more unyielding than a ferret with a hemorrhoid. A myriad of different hostels are run by the same gang in ChungKing mansions (see list below). Avoid all these and that area unless you like being harassed and scammed.
