TownePlace Suites by Marriott Austin Round Rock

I stayed one night with my family. Because the hotel is tucked little bit away from the main roads, it was nice and quite at night. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was super clean. It would have been nicer if there was a fan in the bathroom to make some white noise for modesty. But that's nothing and I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

One of the worst experiences I've ever experienced. Cannot comment on room quality or anything like that because I was treated so horribly upon arrival and eventually asked to leave or I would be escorted off the property. For the record, I am a fairly even keeled person, and I kept my cool through this whole process, but I do like to ask a lot of questions to make sure I understand everything I am being told. The story: I had booked a week stay here for work at the government rate to which apparently because I am a 'state government' employee and not a 'federal government' employee, I was supposed to be booked at a higher rate. We had some back and forth, I called Marriott and they also confirmed that - this took about 15 minutes to confirm, but the employee was right. I explained to the Marriott customer service rep over the phone that they need to update their fine print on the website as it was unclear, but I know now for future. Since it was midnight, I still needed a place to stay for the night so I proceeded with trying to book a single night at their standard (non-government rate) and book somewhere else the rest of the week. They quoted a price, to which I recalled when I booked this hotel 3 weeks prior, the standard rooms were offered at a much lower rate and had I booked non-government then, I would have been better off all along. I explained that the whole process was very frustrating because had the fine print on the website about the government rate been clearer, I would have booked at the lower standard rate. I understand the front desk employee, working the graveyard shift is likely exhausted and they are confined by what the computer is offering - they can only do so much. I understand that completely - but I was expressing my situation to them, hoping they'd understand my frustration. Then I said I understood, I needed a place to sleep that night, and could I book at her offered rate. She proceeded to explain to me in a very belittling tone for the next 5 minutes how I was wrong to be frustrated, the rate was the rate, and finally I was not going to be offered a room there for the night and to please leave. I have never left an establishment feeling quite like the scum of the earth garbage that she made me feel. I know a person doesn't always make the place, and I am sure my inquisitive nature to question things made her uncomfortable (I understand that), but at the end of it to be asked to leave really made me feel horrible.
