We stayed here as a group of four, across two rooms, over new year 23-24. I was a little apprehensive given some of the reviews I’d read, but I’m delighted to say that my concerns were totally unwarranted. Firstly, this hotel is in a fantastic location, especially for the price we paid. Both rooms were clean, well appointed and looked exactly as they did in the pictures - perhaps a little bit tired, but perfectly functional. The bedding was really nice and the beds super comfortable. There are several previous reviews saying the carpets were threadbare, but ours wasn’t, I actually think this is just the design of the carpet that makes it look that way. There was no kettle, but I asked reception for one and it was brought up within 30 minutes. The WiFi was fast and reliable. Air conditioning worked, both hot and cold. Water was always hot and the toiletries provided were really good quality. And every member of staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful. There are a few things here and there that could do with a bit of TLC, especially in public areas, but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I was in Manhattan. If I was considering purely value for money, based on the rooms and the location, this was an absolute bargain.

Second stay here in three months, and it just a pleasant as the first. Cordial staff and quick service (thanks Miranda and Jesus!) Rooms are spacious, though a little worn, and very quiet. The first stay was right next to the elevator, but we didn't hear it or any noise at night -- from the street or hall -- for that matter. The curtains block out the light pretty well. Had to play around with the air conditioning/heating to get the right room temperature, and that wasn't a real issue. Plenty of amenities nearby, including a deli with water/drinks etc. Down the street are a number of excellent restaurants at all price points, and the front desk offered many suggestions. Fabulous and safe location in Murray Hill, close to theaters, transport and shopping.

Very good hotel, excellent location, close to the main attractions. It has some details that if you are very demanding may bother you. In any case, it is a hotel that is being remodeled and I hope they leave everything completely functional. The reception staff is very attentive and ready to help you at all times. A place to which I would return. They do not offer breakfast, however a few meters away, on the corner there is a small but mega complete market with the lowest prices in all of NY. They make you breakfast right then and there in front of your eyes. This way you solve the breakfast issue. Overall a good place with spacious, clean rooms and friendly and attentive cleaning staff.

Good size room and location let down by the service and state of overall hotel. Lobby, lifts and corridor were run-down; and as others have commented missing basic amenities in the room (no coffee machine / kettle, complementary/chargeable bottle of water). Coffee machine at the lobby was out of service. At check-in we queried if we could leave luggage upon check-out for a few hours before our flight and were assured that they had 2 rooms dedicated for this. At check-out however we were advised there was a $5 charge per bag - not something we have encountered anywhere else in the world or even the US on our travels. Not amused that this was sprung upon us - even if there was a charge, which we would have no option but to pay given our circumstance, would have been good to be advised of it when we queried at check-in. All staff were very casually dressed (didn't see any name tags or other corporate/hotel insignia) and it was unclear if they were guests, someone who had walked in from the street, or if they indeed worked there.

Stayed for one night, would not consider this a 4-star hotel. No one answered the phone after multiple calls trying to reach the front desk before check in to request early check-in. Our room had no heat and was 55 degrees. After unmaking the bed to get into it, there was a quarter in the middle of the made bed. To top it off, we were given late check out but at 11 am they turned all power off in our room so we had to pack with no lights on.
