I stayed here for 2 nights. The room had 2 queen beds and 2 big windows. Note that you need to climb a flight of stairs for some rooms on the floor even though there’s an elevator to reach that floor. The ceiling height is very low (I am 5’3 and I could touch it if I raised hands). I had some issues with the card for room access twice; that was replaced immediately. The location is very central - lots of restaurants , supermarket, museum, theatre are at walkable distance. However, I was advised to be careful as it’s not the safest place to walk in the night (like most of San Jose). You need to be careful about petty crime/theft. The best part was the free breakfast (some delicious local fruit juice, tea, coffee, toast, fried plantain, chicken sausage, traditional rice and beans, scrambled eggs , sautéed vegetables, cheese, and some yummy topping). They also have continental. But the local breakfast seemed too good so I stuck to that. Dennis at the breakfast bar is very friendly.

I booked a queen size bed room for a 10-night stay and the hotel gave us a cheaper 1 double bed size room. The queen size bed room or 2 double bed size room were both not available. We cannot fit in the bed that was given to us and this is not the accommodation I booked and paid for. The ceiling is also unusually low and the reception area is small comparable to a 2-star hotel. We were told by the reception that we have to PAY $200 MORE to upgrade to the bed size room we booked and already paid for. SCAM and deceiving advertising… listing and charging a queen size bed but gives a downgraded double size bed room! After contacting Expedia for 3 consecutive days and proving the hotel manager that the bed is too small to pass as queen bed, I got a refund on the 3rd day and moved to Holiday Inn nearby which was cheaper and much nicer and has a big pool.

Hotel petty food mostly. Rooms fine. Bar fine. I was part of a tour group so didn’t book it. Was ok until the Front desk issued a second key to our room to another couple. Serious security issue. That’s why I won’t be staying here again.

Hot water in the bathroom absolutely did not work. After coming in from a long flight to San Jose, it’s very disappointing to not even be able to take a hot shower at a place you are paying to stay at. Main elevator was broken even though they have 5 floors, so you have to take the service elevator. People in my group got stuck in the service elevator and had to call for help. Some rooms on the 5th floor are up these weird staircases. I couldn’t find my room for like ten minutes and then when I found it, I had to take my whole checked bag up the stairs myself - none of the staff offered to help me with my things. I don’t understand how this place can even charge people to stay there.
