I visited the Church of San Lorenzo in Venice on Jan/8th/2024 which was exactly 700yrs to the day that Marco Polo was laid to rest here. Unfortunately the church was closed to the public due to extensive renovations inside …BUT… I was kindly granted entry briefly in order to pay my respects.

Since March 24 the church of San Lorenzo is reopened to the public as Ocean Space. Launched in the former church of San Lorenzo Ocean Space opens a new front line in ocean thinking to dissolve critical boundaries between the water and the land, and traditional single-disciplinary approaches to both. Ocean Space is a collaborative platform for change to radically reimagine how we see, live and treat the oceans.
