Vienna Westside Apartments

Unfortunately I have to disagree with the numerous positive opinions on the structure, due to the terrible experience that my boyfriend and I had. We booked three nights at Westside Apartments through Booking, from 18 to 21 May, for a price of 355 euros, trusting in the excellent reviews. On May 18th, the day of our arrival, the host communicated to us via message the check-in information: the opening code for the main door and the instructions for opening the apartment door, using the keys that we would find underneath the doormat. Upon our arrival, the keys were not present under the doormat, nor had we been sent an access code to the apartment the previous day, as had, for example, been done with the tenants of the apartment next to ours, to whom we asked for help . We then started contacting the host through different channels (messages on booking, WhatsApp and phone calls). It was 7pm and the host, according to the site, would have guaranteed availability until 8pm, so we were confident that we would certainly receive a quick response and prompt assistance. Following unsuccessful attempts to contact the property and not having received any response, we went to dinner, certain that the host would contact us again to resolve the problem. At 11pm there was still no response, so we were forced to start looking for an alternative solution and, after exhausting searches for a structure that had availability in a Vienna evidently saturated with tourists, after midnight we managed to find accommodation in a structure, for the sum of 814 euros for three nights (forcing us to make a significantly more expensive outlay than initially estimated). The following morning, around 8:30, the host apologized via message, justifying herself with the fact that the previous day was a public holiday in Austria and that, having disconnected earlier, she hadn't realized we had been looking for her. He blamed the mix-up on the cleaning lady, who apparently forgot to leave the keys under the doormat. Not a call, not an attempt to repair the economic and moral damage caused - having, in fact, ruined our first evening in Vienna - but just a cold message of apology. I would add that, a few days before our arrival, the host advised us not to use the dishwasher, because it was faulty, and, the afternoon before our arrival, he asked us if a technician could come in at 1.30pm the following day. in our apartment to replace the existing TV with a newer one. All this seemed disconcerting to us, especially in light of what happened later. Unfortunately, following a request for assistance on the evening of the mishap, Booking immediately canceled the reservation at this facility, therefore I am not able to give a negative review of the facility on the Booking site. We don't usually give a negative review to a property unless there are valid supporting reasons, but this time I wanted to leave a trace of the host's behavior without a shred of professionalism, as well as humanity.
