Because of its Lao-style rooms and villas, this hotel is very unique, and we had a great time. The quality of the service is excellent. The personnel is hospitable and extremely professional. I spent three nights at the Hotel Villa Maydou. The location is great with the Wat Visoun is only a short stroll away. The pool area has green tile and is welcoming. The water was a great way to cool off! The restaurant's Mok Kai, which is a local chicken steamed in banana leaves, is highly recommended. I would highly recommend staying at this unique location in Luang Prabang; my entire stay was wonderful!

Together with friends we had the pleasure of 2 nights stay in this very unique and cozy hotel. The rooms are large comfortable and tastefully decorated. Staff very courteous and helpful. If you seek a noisy hotel with disco and karaoke this is not your place. If you like a quiet and tranquil place, still close to city and main places of interest, you couldn’t find a better place.

Great hotel very charming. Beautiful surroundings and garden. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. The only downside for us was the fact that the swimming pool was 1.60 deep with no area that was less deep. Not so convenient with little kids. Also the walk to the center is a bit far. We had a motorbike so no issue. Also they have bycicles that you can use for free at the reception :)

An absolutely superb hotel where we enjoyed every bit of our stay. The pool, the trees and plants, the wooden buildings - all this gives you such a chill environment that you won't find very often. The staff is extremely friendly, always helpful and professional. The breakfast is extremely rich, fresh and filling. They serve fresh yoghurt, jam, toast, eggs, muffins, cooffe/tea, fruits, soup etc. You can borrow one of their bikes - which is what you need to discover the city. They have a bar right next to the pool as well.
