For the price there are surprisingly few amenities. There is no coffee in the rooms (we found afterwards was an extra charge if you made it yourself in the kitchen). City tax was also an additional charge at checkout. The bathrooms also smelled of mildew, shower drain was clogged, and fixtures were loose. The rooms themselves are decent, but I will not be returning due to the way that the hotel cheaps out on amenities.

We loved this charming boutique hotel! It was a great change from boring chain hotels. We really enjoyed the opportunity to stay in such a lovely heritage building.

We loved our five-night stay here. Helene, the manager, has a bubbly personality and treated us like overnight guests in her own home, rather than hotel guests. She made dinner reservations for us every night, after asking what kind of food we liked, and also provided advice about museums and day trips. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored 17th Century mansion with new high-end bathrooms and A/C. We felt very fortunate to have found this place!

Awful experience! The location is acceptable, but the hygiene level is so low, we preferred to stay out until late in order to avoid the mold smell in the room, the dirty carpets, curtains, scratched walls, spider webs and dusty furniture surface. The place is very badly maintained and one can spot it right after the first step into the "villa". I will spare you the photos...The hot water in our bathroom did not run at all, the tap was damaged...We got a suite with an annexed room, which was even a worse nightmare...No windows, no light, no air...Of course this was NOT preannounced. Definitely do not recommend the place!!!

Fantastic stay here for one night, but wish it was for much longer! Helen and Marie were truly phenomenal! Very enthusiastic and eager to help and made great suggestions for the city. The building itself is beautiful (dating back to the 18th century) and our room kept the historic theme with nice modern amenities. Breakfast is well worth it to talk with Helen and enjoy some great food and coffee in the amazing glass dining area. We were also able to leave our luggage in the reception room after check-out before our train which we really appreciated. Would highly recommend Villa Victor Louis to anyone and will certainly be back our next visit to Bordeaux.
