This hotel is an absolute gem. Stephen, his business partner, and their team provide a warm, friendly and personal service in this unusual and authentic boutique hotel. The rooms are beautifully converted from original Berlin apartments and are luxurious and quiet. It's not like usual hotels and is a much more relaxed and homely experience, but still provides luxury. The breakfast is also delicious and very generous. Super conveniently located only a few minutes walk from the U-Bahn. If you want a bustling, busy hotel with bar, etc, it's probably not for you, but we'd definitely stay here again on future visits to Berlin!

Really nice and cosy little hotel. The receptionist gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home. I don't understand the recent bad reviews and I have a feeling that they come from the upset neighbors who make the hotel pay for the broader Berlin real estate crisis. We arrived quite early (thanks to the night train) and were welcomed right away. We were given 3 keys to access the hotel and our room - a bit strange but understandable given the old age of the building. The location is perfect : food shops, cafes and public transportation are 5 minutes away. The room was nice, practical, and clean. Even if we were situated next to the road, the exterior blinds are very good quality, and we slept very well. A fridge was stocked, tea and coffee (with a French press !) were available. We didn't use the breakfast option as there are many other options nearby.

Next to the building is an old, unused parking garage that smells strongly of urine and is infested with many rats, which spreads throughout the hotel area. There also seems to be criminal activity happening that makes the hotel an unsafe and unpleasant place to stay, especially at night. The entrances are extremely confusing, and you are given three keys to gain access. The room was dark and noisy, and there was no privacy at all. I could not stay there and had to check out immediately.
