Generally what you'd expect. Rooms seem tired, lights without bulbs, TV without English channel. Food quite pleasant interesting views from you room over the river. Convenient for Ferry and Airbus sites

We enjoyed the perfect location by the river, close enough to Hamburg at the same time far enough from the city crowd. Our room was good but not so big. The perfect view compensate for the room size. Breakfast was good but the restaurant was not air-conditioned therefore the air in there was sticky during the busy hours. The personnel could be more friendly. Maybe because of the handover there is a bit of a lack of motivation. We would stay there again next time we go to Hamburg.

This is a hotel that still has understanding about good customer experience. Even I did not end up (yet) to be their customer. But the behavior of the front desk personnel, how they handled my mistakes, made me want to be the customer, and bring my group there, the next time I will go to Hamburg :) They apparently still understand that we all make mistakes, and they did not charge me even they had the possibility/right to do so. I think that's also something that all customers should think when we step into the hotel, that they also are allowed to make mistakes and it's not the end of the world, and the best possible behavior is always helping to get the best possible result for all. The customer is not always right (at least not this time)

We have been regulars at the Rilano for about 8 years. Every time we drive through Hamburg we stay there, always calling ahead to ask for a room in the center of the river side rooms. The latest visit in June was a massive disappointment. The hotel seems to be changing management. We found: - The minibar is done, we used to have the lemonade while watching the boats - The tea kettle is also gone - The nice individual toiletries including conditioner and body milk have been replaced by a few large bottles as in the Ibis - The breakfast was so understaffed that it looked like a zoo: all patrons had to sit in dirty tables with mountains of plates and food remains from previous guess, there were no more cups and barely any of some food types, and tables were not cleared at all during the 30 minutes or so that we spent there So the hotel retains the beautiful rooms and location, but the service has been reduced to a much lower quality, both in the room and outside. So this is a warning for the regulars. We will not come back.
