About Bhuj Airport

Bhuj Airport (IATA code: BHJ) is located 3 km north of the city of Bhuj. The airport is located 48 km from the Indo-Pakistan border and covers an area of 832 acres. This airport was raided 35 times in 14 days during the 1971 war between India and Pakistan, using 22 rockets and 92 bombs. While the conflict went on, 300 women from the nearby village of Madhapar repaired the airport. Bhuj Airport was repaired at a cost of INR 400 million after being destroyed in the 2001 earthquake.Bhuj Airport has a single terminal with a total capacity of 200 passengers for arrivals and departures. The ground level of the terminal is 6,682 square metres, while the first floor is 1,382 square metres. The terminal has four check-in desks and one security check for travellers. The airport provides free trolleys, wheelchairs, a lost and found luggage office, and aid to the elderly and physically impaired. There are also X-ray baggage scanning facilities at the airport.
