About Jaisalmer Airport

Jaisalmer Airport, having IATA code: JSA and ICAO code: VIJR, is located 14.6 km from the city centre of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. Built on an Indian Air Force Station, the airfield also serves as a municipal enclave. The airport has a single runway, which is 9000 ft long (2700 m) and 150 ft wide (46 m). Vayudoot and Kingfisher Airlines are two airlines that have formerly operated to and from the airport. The airport was closed for civil flights from 2015 to 2017. For the convenience of visitors, the airport has a help desk and free medical care. The airport also houses well-known cafes, such as Jaisalmer's Ozaki Cafe and Restaurant or Turban Restaurant and Cafe. About Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, also called ëThe Golden City,í is a city in Rajasthan, India, approximately 575 km west of the state capital, Jaipur. The town is capped by the old Jaisalmer Fort, which rises on a ridge of yellow sandstone. Jaisalmer is located in the Thar Desert (Great Indian Desert) and has a population of roughly 78000 people. It used to be the capital of the state of Jaisalmer and now serves as the administrative centre of the Jaisalmer District. The structures are made of yellow sandstone and have elaborate carvings on them. They are known for their exquisite work of art and architecture from mediaeval Indian times. In 1955ñ56, the Indian government began oil exploration in the Jaisalmer area. Oil India Limited discovered natural gas in the Jaisalmer basin in 1988.

Aurangabad Airport is a commercial airport in the Indian city of Aurangabad (IATA code: IXU and ICAO code: VAAU). The Aurangabad-Nagpur State Highway lies about 5.5 km east of the city centre and about 11 km east of the Aurangabad train station.
