About Mangalore Airport

Situated around 7 km northeast of the city centre in Bajpe, Mangalore International Airport (IATA: IXE) is the second-busiest international airport in Karnataka. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the airport by road from the city centre. Earlier known as Bajpe Aerodrome, the airport was inaugurated by the former prime minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in 1951. The airport runs flights by Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet to several cities across India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. Currently, Mangalore Airport has a single integrated terminal that handles both domestic flights and international flights. About Mangalore
