Shaped by the force of the sacred Narmada River, the Marble Rocks in Madhya Pradesh are naturally-formed rock formations, which are among the most beautiful places in central India. Built in the 15th century, Pisanhari Ki Madiya is a Jain temple located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The legends associated with the temple suggest that it was constructed by a local woman using the money she saved from selling flour. The name, Pisanhari Ki Madiya, is derived from the local word ‘pisanhari’ used to refer to women engaged in the manual labour of milling flour. The temple pays tribute to her through a statue of the woman at the entrance. Several inscriptions on the temple have not been deciphered yet. However, it is believed to be taken from the script used in the 14th century. There are thirteen temples in the vicinity and are open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on all days of the week, except Sundays.
