We celebrated our anniversary here in the premium suite balcony category room. The room is quite big with a living room and a balcony having a view of the snow capped mountains. The room's design however needs some changes, as the closet and the mirror are in two opposite directions, meaning you need to walk across the room while changing. Although the room's windows are quite big enough with a view of the rocky mountains, however it's on the on back side of the hotel which is dirty and full of rubbles. The premium suite balcony category room is the highest category room and yet in the backside of the hotel. It could have been a bit better, if the room was in the front side of the hotel, which would have meant an even better view. I would advice to book both breakfast and lunch/dinner, as Lachung doesn't have a thriving market area where you can dine around like in mainstream hill stations. Since, we came during the peak winters, we asked for a room heater. Although it was charged 500/- extra per night, but it was a very small heater (hardly worth 1000/-) which needs to be kept on the bedside table for any kind of warmth. In addition, the washroom had poor plumbing/sanitary fixtures as the shower knob was loose, and at -9°C it turned other side and I had to go through a ice cold shower experience. This made me ill the next day and had a bad experience thereafter in my trip. The staffs of the hotel are very prompt and quick with services. Upon requesting for an early breakfast, they had ensured the same on the day of my checkout. However, the staff had initially asked for a review on Google, and once I posted this review, the same staff suddenly started coaxing me to delete the review. This is not the experience one would want from a hotel of this category in a place like Lachung, where there is absolutely nothing to do once you are done with sightseeing activities in the morning. The hotel has a good potential if the above mentioned points can be rectified.
