16 On Bree - Unit 2810

We have mixed feelings about this accommodation. We stayed here for 20 nights and as it is too hard to call it bad, I can also not recommend it without doubt. Let's go through the good points: If you want to be in the center of cape you are right here. There is almost nothing which is not nearby and you will be in a busy and crowded area. The appartments have a nice size, have good and new machines in the kitchen also including a washing machine. Also wilhen it comes to tools, pans,... The kitchen has everything you need. The equipment is not in the best shape or quality, but I guess people are also treating it bad. There is a security team 24/7 in the basement and you can have room cleaning daily if you like. The WiFi is quite good with 50mbits at max, but bit unstable in the prime times dropping to 15-25. Now to the downsides The traffic on our side (opposite to Bree str.) Was super loud. As the windows are single glass and have bad isolation the traffic is a 24/7 noise with minimal 40-50db. Also the Aircon is quite loud next to the bed. Bring ear plugs with you and/or make sure which side of the building is. The management knows about the problem but in their view ear plugs is the way to go and we should be happy because the appartments on the other side are very cold because of the missing sun. Hmm. The balcony was not usable for us because of the traffic. No electrical plug in the bathroom. The cleanliness of the apartment was unacceptable. The pillows and carpet haven't been cleaned for months probably and have been super dusty and dirty. The Aircon was also not cleaned for months. If you have a parking space in a higher floor, count up to 10 minutes to every trip you make, driving circles. As we were not that happy, management was not able to provide alternative apartment nor shorten our booking as we wanted to change accommodation. All in all it feels that the facility is aiming to be seen as high class accommodation, but on a second look most things seem to be of cheaper heritage. However we were able to make it our home adapting to the downsides.

My husband and I honestly had a great time. We were in room 1619 and the bed was super comfortable. We will definitely come back.
